XLARGE and adidas Originals Collaborate on Campus 80 Duo
XLARGE, the LA-based label of Eli Bonerz and Adam Silverman, mostly flies under the radar, despite being around since 1991 and being one of the pioneers of the LA streetwear scene. However, when it comes to a collaboration, like this 30th anniversary celebration partnership with adidas Originals on Campus 80, he pulls out all the stops.
XLARGE and adidas Originals have a long-standing relationship, dating back to 2009 when it delivered a version of the Five-Two 3 Superstar, before offering a Campus 80 in 2012 and a Superstar 80s in 2013. Today, the Streetwear stalwart returns for its 30th anniversary, showcasing two pairs of Campus 80 sneakers drawing on inspirations such as skateboarding, the club scene and mid-century design trends that frequent the brand’s aesthetic.
For this collab, the Campus 80 comes in ‘Mesa/Solar Red/Gum’ and ‘Orbit Violet/Core Black/Chalk White’, with both pairs sporting a suede-covered upper. The low profile pairs are interspersed with three leather stripes in contrasting colors and for a retro touch, adidas’ Trefoil logo has been embroidered on the leather heel patch.
Elsewhere we find XLARGE’s logo on a rubbery puck to the tongue and a cow print lining that runs across both colorways. The multiple sets of laces provided in the box complete the collaborative pairs, allowing you to add your own twist to the trainers.
Take a look at the adidas Originals Campus 80 Pack from XLARGE above and pick up both pairs at adidas Confirmed on February 4th for just £75 GBP (around $100 USD).
