SILHOUETTES TO ESCAPE
According to Caroline, skinny jeans should be kept for at least one more season.
For fall 2021, Shopbop’s fashion director reveals that the hottest denim silhouettes are straight, wide legs.
“The versatile fit goes great with sneakers, casual sandals or a pair of kitten heels,” the expert shared.
Chrissy Teigen was spotted with her husband John Legend wearing a pair of Dries Van Noten mid wash.
The model and TV personality gave her retro denim a modern twist with a Calvin Klein sports bra and Saint Laurent check blazer.
She completed her effortlessly cool look with Amavii Jane sunglasses and a Bottega Veneta handbag.
According to Caroline, high-waisted styles dominate the fashion landscape. Try wearing high waisted jeans with a striped tee and Nicole Richie style ballet flats.
EXTENDED WAIST AND HEM
While almost every trend of the ’90s has resurfaced in the past couple of years, low rise jeans are nowhere to be found.
According to Caroline, high-waisted styles dominate the fashion landscape.
“The high waist is always where it is – flattering, stylish, and so on!”
Try wearing high waisted jeans with a striped tee and Nicole Richie style ballet flats for a simple but elevated look, or with a fancy cropped sweater – it’s comfortable and practical.
Hem lengths are also lengthened. Goodbye clamdiggers, “the longer the better,” says Caroline.
GO FOR DARK WASHES
As the seasons change, your clothing color scheme should change as well. Swap the light summer hues for darker options.
“I love deep indigo denim right now,” Caroline shared.
You can’t go wrong with dark blue or black (no distress) jeans, which look the neatest in a more professional setting.

Irina Shayk played with proportions by styling a pair of tapered denim with a black corset top
While denim never goes out of style, design details follow the ebb and flow of the trend cycle.
Embellishment and distress have dominated for many seasons, but for fall 2021 Caroline says she sees “tons of wrinkled fronts.”
She adds, “The tapered and cylindrical leg styles are also very popular right now.”

NOT JUST JEANS
Style buffs incorporate denim into their wardrobe in so many ways.
“The longer denim skirts are here to play this season,” Caroline said.
‘I love pairing this look with a simple, basic or graphic tee.
“The overalls are also making a big appearance this fall and that’s what I’m here for! Big fan of classic denim overalls, I hope to see more of this trend in the spring. ‘
