The suspect takes a deposit for the car and never hears again
On Friday, October 29, a man from Lubbock claimed that his $ 1,000 down payment for a vehicle was stolen.
KAMC News reports that earlier this week, on October 24, the anonymous victim started speaking with the suspect on Facebook. The suspect, whose name has not been released, was apparently selling a Honda.
The suspect arrived at the victim’s home for the two to agree on a price. The suspect even provided documents about the car and a photo of the vehicle’s title.
The 2 eventually agreed on a price, and the victim gave the suspect a $ 1,000 cash deposit. After that, the suspect said he would bring the Honda in once he gathered the documentation.
This was the last time the victim heard from the suspect.
The victim made several attempts to contact them, but they were unsuccessful.
When the victim made the report to the Lubbock Police Department, she brought the documentation provided by the suspect, but an officer discovered that the driver’s license number was wrong and the vehicle did not belong to the suspect at all .
No further details were given regarding this case.
