Acclaimed American architect and frequent contributor to SHVO Pierre Marin leads the design and restoration of the property in collaboration with Miamibased at Kobi Karp Architects, engaging famous artists and artisans to imagine elegant and authentic contemporary design. Originally built in the 1940s by Miami architect Laurent Murray Dixonthe Raleigh will be completed by the addition of its two historic neighbours, the richmond and South Seas Hotels, with each building’s historic Art Deco facade restored and incorporated into the ultra-luxury hotel, in line with Rosewood guidelines A sense of place® philosophy. SHVO is developing the RaleighSouth Seas and Richmond Hotels with Deutsche Finance America.
Working closely with the Miami Beach Historic Preservation Board, SHVO’s comprehensive and meticulous restoration plans are now underway and include Miami most iconic swimming pool known for its curvaceous design and tropical foliage, named America’s Most Beautiful Swimming Pool by Time magazine.
“This fresh and historic restoration and renovation of The Raleigh joins a private beach club with a Latin beat and sleek black, white and ivory residences. This mix is the best Miami cocktail I can imagine,” says Pierre Marin.
The new contemporary tower adjacent to the historic Raleigh The hotel will house Rosewood Residences Miami Beach, comprising 44 private homes with stunning ocean views and prime proximity to the ocean. The facade of the tower features white columns and black mullions that create rhythm and movement while prioritizing large windows for maximum light, air, and ocean views. In the interiors, a calm material palette with artisan plasters, hand-painted woodwork and immaculately detailed noble stones create a serene and elegant place to live. The residences are accessed via a private porte-cochere and two dedicated residential lobbies featuring curated artwork and furniture by Pierre Marin.

Pierre Marin, AIA, is the principal of Peter Marino Architect, a 160-person New York-based architectural firm founded in 1978. Working globally on a wide range of project types and scales, Marino is widely recognized for having redefined modern luxury with a focus on architecture and interior design. The firm is recognized for its award-winning residential, commercial, cultural and hospitality projects around the world. Well known for incorporating art into architectural designs, Pierre Marin commissioned over 300 site-specific works of art.
