The Margaritaville Resort completes construction of 560 Seventh Avenue in Times Square, Manhattan
Construction is ending on the Margaritaville Resort New York at 560 Seventh Avenue in Times Square. Designed by Stonehill Taylor and developed by Sharif El-Gamal of Soho Properties with MHP Real Estate Services, the 32-story, 375-foot-tall project is slated to open next month with 234 rooms and island-inspired interiors designed by The McBride Company. The Midtown, Manhattan property is located at the corner of Seventh Avenue and West 40th Street.
Recent photographs show newly installed signage for Jimmy Buffett Margaritaville and the Land Shark Bar and Grill. There are two pairs of these panels on the south and east elevations of the multi-story podium, which is now completely covered in glass and has only minor exterior work along the ground floor and sidewalks to be completed.
Atop the podium will be New York City’s only year-round heated outdoor pool with appropriate beach-themed design as part of the 140-seat Landshark Bar & Grill. Other planned restaurants are a two-story, 492-seat Margaritaville restaurant with a 32-foot-high replica of the Statue of Liberty raising a margarita, a 75-seat indoor-outdoor license for Chill Bar and Joe Merchant’s Coffee & Supplies on the fifth floor and a two-story rooftop bar called 5 O’Clock Somewhere Bar with stunning views of Midtown.
Above, the main tower is now completely encased in glass and metal panels up to the mechanical extensions. Rooms include walk-in rainfall showers, St. Somewhere toiletries, Keurig coffeemakers, free Wi-Fi and USB outlets, and Margaritaville bed linens. The Margaritaville Resort New York is also expected to produce 4,861 square feet of ground floor retail space with 160 feet of frontage covering both West 40th Street and Seventh Avenue.
A metal-framed glass canopy overlooks the sidewalks along Seventh Avenue with signage for the complex.
The Margaritaville Resort New York is scheduled to open on July 1.
