IMPERFECTIONISTS, REJOY YOURSELF. Sean Scherer and other aesthetics professionals see interior design embracing flaws in 2022. The founder of the Kabinett & Kammer curiosity store in Franklin, NY, cites a growing interest in porcelain as an example. chipped and cracked iron. “In the past, people wanted pure, pristine white,” he said. Today, its customers aspire to the contrary: a “feeling of comfort and yesteryear”. Sleek mass-produced items and cool finishes like glass are ghost. Mosaic floors have also had their moment, said Brooklyn architect Adam Meshberg, “until people started spending more time at home and opted for spaces that were serene and easy on the eyes.”
