House for sale in Naperville for almost $ 15 million
Jane Brooks declined to say how much the house cost to build. It is not clear from the DuPage County public records what they paid for the site. Coldwell Banker’s listing agent Lauren Walz declined to comment.
The five-bedroom home was designed by Chicago-based Charles Cook Architectural Studio, with interiors by Chicago-based Tracy Hickman. It has a stone and stucco facade, with multiple steeply pitched slate roofs and metal window caps, suggesting an older European house at large.
The evocation of ancient times carries on the interior with white oak floors, some stone walls and fireplaces, roughly hewn ceiling beams and white plaster walls. The house also has a gym and a studio that Jane Brooks used to make handmade soap.
In the backyard are a swimming pool, an outdoor kitchen, both under the roof and open-air terraces, and a fire pit with built-in stone benches.
At $ 14.999 million, the house is the most expensive on the market in DuPage County. The second highest price is less than half of the asking price of Brooks: a 14,700 square foot home on Donwood Drive in Naperville that has been on the market for two years. Meanwhile, its asking price has dropped from $ 7.25 million to just under $ 7 million.
