Dresdner Robin, a Jersey City-based land-use planning consultancy, announces the appointment of a new associate director of engineering
New Jersey-based land-use consulting firm Dresdner Robin announced today that Matthew Neuls PE, CME, LEED AP has been promoted to Associate Director of Engineering. For decades, Neuls has worked on a variety of site engineering, civil and public works projects, including multi-block urban redevelopments in Jersey City and will continue to manage all aspects of the design and construction of the site in its new role.
Since joining Dresdner Robin in 2014, Neuls has led residential, commercial and institutional development projects throughout his tenure. With a range of specialties, he has training in regulatory compliance for coastal resources, flood hazards, and water quality permits for state and federal agencies. He is particularly skilled in the design of stormwater management and grading, as well as the design of wastewater utilities.
“We are delighted to appoint Matthew as our new Associate Director of Engineering,” said Tony Ianuale, Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer of Dresdner Robin. “He has exceptional skills and has worked on some of our biggest projects to date. His many years of experience in the field have sharpened his ability to bring our clients’ visions to life.
Throughout his time at Dresdner Robin, Neuls served as director of several projects, including Hudson Exchange West in Jersey City, a mixed-use complex comprised of two 36-story towers with a street-level retail component. and open space amenities. He also served as project manager for the Ellipse Building, a 376-unit residential structure located on the Jersey City Hudson waterfront. Neuls successfully navigated the preparation of the site plan for the 41-story building, which required unique considerations for utility and drainage systems due to inadequate support from waterfront fill materials, as well as federal and state regulations.
“I say with confidence that every project I’ve had the pleasure of contributing to has always aligned with the company’s mission – to create transformative results,” said Matthew Neuls. “It’s very rewarding to grow with a company that is passionate about its work and the impact it has on our customers and the communities in which we work.”
Neuls also served as the Municipal Engineer of Official (EOR) in three communities, as well as an engineering consultant to several land use boards throughout New Jersey. He was qualified as an expert witness in the field of civil engineering by the Superior Court of New Jersey and presented testimony regarding compensatory mitigation of impacts on coastal resources before the Senate Environment and Energy Committee of the state of New Jersey.
Dresdner Robin has been involved in dozens of recent local projects, including a housing complex, which provides low- and middle-income housing with 20 veterans-only units. The company also completed the first phase of environmental remediation at “The Cove,” a project to rehabilitate a contaminated area overlooking Liberty State Park.
