Spring is the season of nature: a time when flowers bloom and nature awakens, so it’s no wonder a new boutique hotel flowery in Space City this month.

flower hotel, which was a three-year project, made its official debut this month, with a sandcasting ceremony hosted by Blossom Hotel executives and attended by Mayor Sylvester Turner. The new 16-storey hotel is located in the Texas Medical Centerand its interior design is visually reminiscent of Houston’s aerospace industry.

Blossom is decorated with NASA-inspired architecture of Hangzhou Rongyi Creative Company. A mix of vibrant color palettes and whimsical textures give the hotel an oasis charm.

“The hotel chose the lunar theme because it pays homage to the international city that is Houston,” said Randy Nemeth, Blossom’s chief operating officer. recount Houstonia.

As you enter the hotel, you are greeted by a radiant waterfall in the lobby and light fixtures placed throughout the property reminiscent of shooting stars.

“The name Blossom signifies the arrival of something new and good, like blooming flowers,” adds Nemeth.

Blossom’s vision was to make it a gathering place, and the hotel’s central location is the perfect meeting place, minutes from NRG Park, the Theater District and tourist attractions like the Houston Zoo. .

The hotel itself has plenty for a stay, it has over 9,000 square feet of recreation and event space, as well as gyms equipped with Peletons, suites equipped with Dyson hairdryers and a rooftop swimming pool. It’s not hard to imagine it becoming the go-to place for savvy Instagram influencers or business travelers who want a place to stay for a short trip.

Hospitality extends to the hotel’s restaurants and the cozy lobby bar and lounge, RendezVu, which serves craft cocktails and tapas. The Cantonese-inspired Duck House and the Japanese cuisine of AB Sushi complete the dining offer. (Houstonia highlighted the two restaurants in our look at restaurants to expect in 2022.)

The new construction is expected to bring business to the growing Medical Center commercial district with its first major opening initiative. If customers book now, they’ll receive the grand opening special, which includes two tickets to The Infinite, the immersive virtual reality experience located at Sawyer Yards. The hotel is also offering a recently announced Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Stay Package.
